The Love of The Game

Seem to me the today's Professional Athletes are just that, Players being paid to Play rather than truly Playing for the love of the game. It went from playing for the Love of the Game to becoming a job with Sky Rocketing Salaries. But in the same time the one thing that does not change is they are still role models for the youth of our Nation and yes even the World. Now you wonder why is this my concern. Well with kids see that the Wealth these Athletes make and there Millions of Dollar salaries to what extent will we drive our kids to became the very best. Some may say this sounds stupid, just look at the violent that is taken part at our kids youth sport. Look a the fights parents get into over a bad call, Look at the parents fighting with the High School Coaches or brown nosing so there kids can start or get more playing time. Look at the Drug are given to our kids to make them stronger and faster. What happen to the days when kids from a neighbor goes and play baseball in and open field, or goes to a playground and a pickup game of basketball breaks out. Some can say with all the molester out there, or if they play on my field I can get sued, but some do not what the kids to get hurt, or home working out with there special coach that Mom's and Dad's are paying for. Even in High School sports some Coach's do not want there Starting player's playing any other sports. College do not look the first time at these player in High School some go to the middle school level and even worst to the grades school. Wonder why our nation is full of stress, maybe cause when we was younger we never knew how to relax and be,, yes we never was KIDS. Some kids these days do not play a sport cause they love it, they play cause they are good at it. Some once once said, "he competed only as an amateur and therefore demonstrated an unadulterated love for the game". This quote was made about the Great Bobby Jones. One of the greatest golfer ever. He never turn to become a pro but really he Played for the Love of the Game.

Does History repeat itself.

I know some will not care and other might. But I have a right to my opinion as well as you do. My Wife was reading me something of a friends of hers wrote one day. It made this One think of why do we as American think we live the perfect life and have to push it onto others? And yet, We as Americans will spend Billions of dollars in wasted project that our government says we need to support, but here in the Great U.S. of A. we have million homeless, million with no health care, and yes we people starving everyday. We give billions of Dollars in the space program, to search the outer limits. We can see billions of light years out in space, but we can not find one person in the mountains in Afghanistan. Now do not get me wrong I Love my Country and support Our troops, but believe me I have a great fear of My Government. Why is it that Our Gas prices increase to record stages, and yes Oil company's are making billions of dollars in profits every qtr. Maybe does it have anything to do with Our Great Leader being a from the Oil State? Not sure but seem all his Cabinets member are dropping like fly. And today the New Secretary of Defense at his hearing was asked about the war in Iraq and his response was That we are not winning the war in Iraq. I though the President said we won? I wonder what Our founding father are thinking now? Why did they fight so hard for this Country? A protest of tax dollars being wasted away, taxes with the lack of representation. Seem that history does repeat.
